"Dr. Brent Chowen joined the faculty at BYUH in the fall of 2006. Brent recently earned his PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas-- Austin. He brings over 14 years of experience in public schools, including 12 years as a middle school and high school teacher. He has taught French, Utah History, US History, World History, and European History. In addition to classroom teaching, Brent has served as a cooperating teacher, history department chair, educational consultant, student teacher supervisor, and federal grant coordinator. He has sponsored numerous student groups and enjoys working with young students in a variety of settings.

At BYUH, Brent works with secondary students during their observation and student teaching semesters, in addition to teaching courses in classroom management, content-area literacy, and elementary social studies methods."
